Poll Comment Thread

I felt like there should be a thread to have a discussion about the most recent polls. So I started this new post. Feel free to discuss both new "Would you rather..." polls in the comments section below.

While another pick in the lottery would be nice for the Bulls, the "mediocrity till 2010 and possibly beyond" plan implemented by Gar Paxdorf requires that the Bulls play competitive enough to be suitable to a star free agent. With or without Vinny, that requires a trip to the postseason this year, so anything else has to be used as a failure.

The Bears, however, are screwed regardless. With holes everywhere I'd rather bring in someone who makes good decisions and gets more with less instead of less with more. I think Jerry Angelo and the McCaskeys bring Lovie back next year regardless, so it would be nice to see him tank hard this year and have a nice shit stain on his resume in case he manages to go 8-8 in 2011.

Yeah I was torn on these polls also (even tho I made them up).

With the Bulls, it will be tough to land a big free agent whether we make the playoffs or not ... as we basically have to give up TT and waive Salmons to have max space (covered in detail here: http://bullbearsock.blogspot.com/2009/10/bulls-not-re-signing-tt-but-there-is.html)

So missing the playoffs and getting VDN fired might be good for the long-term. BUT ...
As a die-hard Bulls fan, can I truly hope we lose games and miss the playoffs? Especially considering how much fun the playoffs were last year (even tho they were short). So I voted that I wanted the Bulls to keep winning this year, even if it means we are stuck with VDN for another year.

The Bears are a different story ...
with little talent outside of QB and RB, we will suck next year no matter who coaches us. Especially considering we have no 1st or 2nd round picks. That being said, there are a lot of great coaches available and I am tired of being constantly disappointed by the ineptitude of LOvie and Ron Turner. Fire them all!

always choose playoffs over no playoffs is my philosophy. at least its something.

Although John Wall would look pretty sexy in a Bulls uni.
